Coaches play a key role in sport by fostering an environment where participants can learn, develop, and create a lifelong love for sport.

CKO Sprint will be providing virtual coach education workshops in May, June & July, including Community Stream (Canoe Kids) and Competition Introduction (ELCC).  Both workshops will be live, interactive experiences.

CKO Sprint champions the Responsible Coaching Movement (RCM).  The RCM is a call to action for sport organizations, parents, and coaches to enact responsible coaching across Canada – on and off the field of play.

The Sprint Canoe/Kayak coaching stream has multiple steps. The Entry-Level Competitive Coach course is the first step to coaching the competitive stream. Following this, coaches will complete Comp-Intro, Comp-Dev, NCCP Multi-Sport courses, and more.

CKO Sprint offers multiple mentoring programs that provide a formal structure and resources to assist Ontario coaches in developing a personalized professional development pathway. The programs take into consideration current knowledge, experience and interests of coaches as well as needs and demands of the coach’s athletes.
